Having worked as an editor and journalist for nearly 20 years in the health, medical, science and wellbeing B2B and B2C space – including Modern Medicine, GP Ireland, Hospital Doctor of Ireland, Healthy Ireland Magazine and the Spectrum Journal – Shauna Rahman took up the role of Associate Director in Equity, Diversity & Inclusion at Grant Thornton Ireland in 2022. In her role, Shauna created the firm’s first Equity, Diversity and Inclusion policy and strategy incorporating three core principles – educate, integrate and celebrate. Shauna is Chair of Embrace, Grant Thornton’s Equity, Diversity and Inclusion Programme and Employee Resource Group.

Working with 100 Embrace members across the five pillars, Ability, Ethnicity & Culture, Gender Equality, Family and LGBTQIA+, Shauna also heads up all internal and external Equity, Diversity & Inclusion strategies across the firm’s nine offices in ROI, Belfast, Gibraltar, Isle of Man and Bermuda (approx. 3,000 headcount). In 2023, Embrace won Ireland’s Outstanding Employee Resource Group at the National Diversity and Inclusion Awards. Shauna is currently working towards achieving Investors in Diversity Gold this year, the benchmark for equity, diversity and inclusion standards for business in Ireland.
