Annual Scientific Conference - Friday 29th September 2023

REGISTRATION IS NOW OPEN!

 

Registration is now open for the 26th Annual Scientific Conference on Friday 29th September 2023 in Páirc Uí Chaoimh, Cork. The theme of the 2023 conference is ‘Diversity in Clinical Engineering’. 

The conference is free to all BEAI members who can register here. We are also offering a travel bursary to members traveling to the conference from long distances. If you would like more information, please contact treasurer@beai.ie

BEAI 2023 ASC PROGRAMME

 

As the conference programme is being finalised, the ASC team wanted to tell you about some of the presentations you can look forward to.

There will be presentations on connected medical devices and cyber security, on civil engineering applied to Fem Tech, Universal Design, Digital Clinical Safety for Clinical Engineers, and AI in medical devices to name but a few. 

We are also excited to announce that Donal Óg Cussack will open the conference.

The event will be attended by some of the leading medical device experts around the country and abroad, organisations such as the HPRA and HSAI, and other Health & Social Care Professionals that have interactions with medical devices in both the community and acute setting.

CALL FOR APPLICATIONS / NOMINATIONS FOR THE BEAI EARLY CAREER AWARD

 

The BEAI Executive Committee calls for applications / nominations for the 2023 BEAI Early Career Award. The prize will be awarded at the BEAI Annual Scientific Conference in Páirc Uí Chaoimh, Cork on Friday 29th September 2023.

The Early Career Award honours outstanding contributions made by students, young researchers, junior-level academics and professionals to the field of Clinical Engineering and the application of medical technology in the health system. The total prize value amounts to €2000 and is reserved for Biomedical / Clinical Engineers whose age is less than 35 on July 31st in the year of the Conference.

Members of the BEAI should submit their applications / nominations via the BEAI Conference Portal.

Applications / Nominations should be made not later than on 31st August, 2023.

 

CALL FOR NOMINATIONS - CLINICAL ENGINEERING HEALTHCARE TECHNOLOGY SUPPORT AWARD 2023

 

The BEAI Executive Committee calls for nominations for the Clinical Engineering Healthcare Technology Support Award 2023. The prize will be awarded at the 26th Annual Scientific Conference on Friday 29th September 2023 in Páirc Uí Chaoimh, Cork. The Clinical Engineering Healthcare Technology Support Award is given to Health Technology Suppliers in recognition of the excellent support service for equipment, medical devices and other health technologies being used in the Irish healthcare system using the following criteria:

 

- Responsiveness: time to resolution of issue

- Technical Knowledge and expertise

- Clinical-Technical Knowledge

- Suitability of documentation: format, timeliness, comprehensiveness

- Patient-Focus

- Understanding of Client Needs

- Innovative Solutions Orientation

- Value for Money

 

Hospital based (non-corporate) BEAI members are being asked to nominate and rank their preferred Healthcare Technology Supplier using this form

The winner will be announced at the 2023 Annual Scientific Conference on 29th September 2023. 

Voting will close on 22nd September 2023
