Together with our customers we are driven to make healthcare better. This mission, our mission, drives us in everything we do. Stryker Cork is the biggest innovation and manufacturing hub outside of our US headquarters.
Stryker began operations in Cork in 1998 with 20 employees and one site. By 2023, 25 years later, Stryker Cork employs over 4,100 people across six sites, in R&D and manufacturing, and it is home to Stryker’s European Operations Leadership with many global programs lead from Cork.
Innovation is at the core of what we do, and Stryker’s operations in Cork are driving this culture of innovation, which is reflected by the fact that over 15% of Cork employees are working in R&D roles. Supported through a strong historic partnership with the IDA, our Cork R&D teams have contributed greatly to Stryker’s innovative portfolio; from stroke care to hip implants, from surgical instruments to 3D-printed devices.
We at Stryker don’t see ourselves as simply being a company located in Cork, but as a part of the community, which comes with responsibilities. We take these responsibilities seriously. We regularly partner with groups and local representatives for positive impact on our communities, and we support many local charities and organizations every year.
The Anngrove building was officially opened in 2016, it is one of the largest 3D printing facilities in the world. In addition to housing Stryker's manufacturing facilities, Anngrove is also the worldwide headquarters of the AMagine Institute, which develops breakthrough technologies, from early research and development to full commercial launch and scaling and deploys these new technologies across its full portfolio of products and services.
