Eoghan Hayden is the Head of Department for Clinical Engineering at The National Maternity Hospital. Eoghan is also an Executive Committee Member of the Biomedical / Clinical Engineering Association of Ireland (BEAI), working specific as the Communications Officer.
Eoghan has been involved in medical equipment and clinical information system management, along with roles in project management such as the redevelopment of clinical areas on-site and the pending hospital relocation to the Elm Park campus.
Eoghan has a BSc in Computing Science from Griffith College Dublin, with research interests focusing around digital asset management.
Eoghan also holds an MSc in Clinical Engineering from Cardiff University Wales. His primary area of research was into the effectiveness of manual resuscitation devices in the neonatal environment.
Eoghan also holds a Post Graduate Diploma in Lean Six Sigma from University College Dublin.
Along with being a current member of the national body for Biomedical/Clinical Engineers (BEAI), Eoghan is a medical equipment advisor to the EQUALS Initiative which is a joint initiative between the RCPI and the HSE providing post graduate training and reusable medical equipment for developing countries. He is also the representative for Clinical Engineers on the Health & Social Care Professionals (HSCP) expert group for paediatrics.
