It was a great privilege to win the inaugural BEAI Early Career Award last year. With the awarded prize, I procured a 3D printer. My primary objective revolved around investigating the applicability of filament-based 3D printing in the domain of neurosurgery, generating patient-specific prints to aid in planning and teaching.

Mairead Dennehy is an Assistant Lecturer in Medical Technology at the Technological University of the Shannon since 2019. Mairead delivers Lectures and labs in a range of subjects on the Medical Technology (L7, L8) degree programmes and the L9 Postgraduate in Advanced Medical Technologies in the Department of Applied Science.
